A seemly young girl summoned to battle for the Holy Grail under the Saber Class, first by Kiritsugu Emiya and, ten years later, by his adopted son, Shirou. Her personality is serious, driven and chivalrous. {FULL BACKSTORY} Legend Once upon a time, there was a king in England named Arthur Pendragon. He was the legendary king who staunchly defended the land from the invading Saxons for a long period of time. The name Arthur, written in the fashion of Romans is "Artorius". Its feminine form is "Artoria" or "Arturia", which is the true name of Saber. Arturia was born between Uther Pendragon and a Queen hailed from the rival kingdom. She grew up under the guidance of the True Magician Merlin, and became the king after pulling out the Sword of Selection. Later, she led Lancelot, Gawain, and other famed knights to achieve innumerable deeds. They engaged the King of Saxons at the Battle of Badon Hill and brought peace to the land of Britain. Because the Sheath of the Holy Sword stopped her from aging, Arturia continued to reign as the ideal king. Ironically, Queen Guinevere and the serving knights grew more distant from Arturia precisely because she was too ideal and apparently lacked human emotions. In the civil war that raged at the end of her reign, she crossed blade with her very own son, Mordred. At the instant of her child's demise, she pledged her service as a Heroic Spirit after death in exchange for striking a pact with the World. The one wish she hoped the Holy Grail could realise was "save Britain" which became "redo the selection of the king" after the Fourth Grail War ended. In legend, the body of King Arthur was transported to the Fairyland – Avalon, where he is healing his wounds in serenity. That is too Arturia's eventual fate, unless she undoes it with the help of a miracle: to pass from this world into her dear utopia where she would wait in an eternal, dreamless slumber when she is called again as the Once and Future King. POWERS NOBLE PHANTASM {Read about them HERE} HIGH PARAMETERS Many, many times stronger, more agile, more sturdy and luckier than the average human being. {Under Rin for example} MAGIC She can increase her physical abilities with her magical energy, using prana brust. Also she can make her silver armor with it. She has a lot of magical energy but no training in magecraft to know complicated spells. She also has Magic Resistance which allows her to cancel most spells or magic thrown at her, if they aren't divine mysteries. So someone hurls magical fireballs at her would just poof and not affect her, for example. WALKS ON WATER thanks to the blessing of the fairies. WEAKNESSES PRANA CONSUMPTION All her great attacks consume great quantities of prana and her summon made her dragon core somewhat dormant to provide her the energy she needs. She needs to rest or a good Master like Rin to compensate (or to restart her dragon core). CHIVALRY She's honor-bond in her conduct, including her fighting style, disliking dirty tricks and underhanded methods which gives her disadvantage toward those who use them. She's also prone to be self-righteous, but she no longer has this as pronounced as before (Fate/Zero). INABILITIES Can't swim, cook, be of use in any medical treatment (besides Avalon prana provider) and she has difficulties with small talk. SELF-DESTRUCTIVE While she has given up her foolish wish, Saber is still someone prone to unhealthy tendencies. She refuses to acknowledge herself as human {this is changing in AMAT}, so it's difficult for her to realize she's sad and depressed because a king/sword shouldn't have human feelings. And this, in turn, isolates her. ABILITIES BATTLE SKILLS Master swordsman, good spearsman and cold-blooded strategist when it is required of her (she would make small sacrifices to ensure her victory as long this isn't against her code of honor; mostly she took those decisions as king of Britain including sacrificing 1 village to save 10). She was known as the "Undefeated King" and the "god of war". RIDING Class Ability. She can ride any steed, from a plane to a pony, as long as it is not a magical beast (phantasm, divine, etc). CHARISMA Personal Skill. The ability to lead a kingdom or a country or gain many followers. She was said to be a flawless administrator who organized her kingdom justly and solved all the problems in an age of chaos. INSTINCT Personal Skill. A sixth sense she developed through her battles that is almost on the level of precognition to warn her about dangerous situations.
